Proposal
The innovation partnership proposal focuses on deconstructing the International Baccalaureate Approaches to Learning (IB ATL) skills, which are similar to the BC Education Plan’s core competencies, and communicating students’ development of these skills both informally and formally in a number of ways, including a rubric based interim report and a standards-based report card.
Using the IB ATL skills and the BC Education Plan’s core competencies, in addition to the MYP learning standards, we will monitor the effect of explicitly teaching and assessing these essential skills.
The most unique feature of this multi-year project is that the project transcends traditional school district boundaries and incorporates three different school districts – from both public and independent educational sectors. All are strongly committed to improving student learning and achievement, and to communicating meaningful student progress to students and their families.
